Triad Isotopes continues to grow its national footprint with the acquisition of Nuclear Providers, Inc. and Specialty Healthcare Partners, Inc.
ORLANDO, Florida, September 4, 2007 - Triad Isotopes, Inc. headquartered in Orlando, Florida today announced the acquisition of two leading independent nuclear pharmacy companies: Nuclear Providers, Inc. doing business as MedTech Diagnostic Services of Fort Myers, FL and Specialty Healthcare Partners, Inc. of Chattanooga, TN. These acquisitions continue Triad Isotope’s aggressive growth and investment in the radiopharmaceutical industry.
Medtech Diagnostic Services is a leading provider of radiopharmacueticals to the southwest Florida medical community. The company also operates a Brachytherapy division, which is one of the nation’s largest providers of pre-loaded needles and strands for this innovative form of internal radiotherapy. Specialty Healthcare Partners is the largest provider of radiopharmacueticals in the southeastern Tennessee market and will be combined with Triad’s newest cyclotron operations which opened in Chattanooga on August 6, 2007.
With these acquisitions, Triad Isotopes now owns and operates a network of 18 nuclear pharmacies and 5 cyclotrons throughout the southeast. The combined company provides doctors and hospitals with reliable quality, innovative local service and a commitment to the communities in which they operate.
Dom Meffe, President and CEO of Triad Isotopes stated, “It is our purpose, as a company, to advance the diagnosis and treatment of disease through the use of radiopharmaceuticals. I am pleased to welcome these two companies and their outstanding employees to the Triad family, and I look forward to growing together and making a difference in the lives of the people we touch.”
A nuclear pharmacy is a pharmacy that compounds and distributes radiopharmaceuticals used primarily in imaging procedures for cardiac and cancer diagnosis. Cyclotrons are utilized to produce FDG (Fluorodeoxyglucose) a short-lived positron-emitting isotope suitable for PET (Positron Emission Tomography), an imaging technology that can be used to assess tissue biochemistry. The Triad Isotopes business model combines the best independent, local nuclear pharmacies and cyclotrons with the capital and management experience of a nationwide corporation enabling Triad to continually invest in its procedures, equipment and staff. All of these resources are then deployed across the Triad network of facilities so they can focus solely on patient care in the communities they serve. Triad recently opened the Triad Center for Clinical Studies which is dedicated to the advancement of nuclear medicine through research, training and communication.
